Payment Options

You can redeem your coupon over the phone or in person at your hire station. Coupons cannot currently be used online. However, you can still book your vehicle online and redeem your coupon over the counter. Please note that coupons can only be used on 'pay on collection' bookings.


You can either pay for your vehicle when you book online, or when you collect your hire vehicle. If you choose to pay when you book online, we’ll dip/swipe your card to gain authorisation. If you choose to pay at the station, we’ll dip/swipe your card to gain authorisation for the estimated full hire cost (including extras) but won’t take payment until you return your vehicle. Please ensure that your payment contains both your full first and last name in order to the complete the check out. There are some useful extras, such as Fuel Up Front that you can't pay for until you collect your vehicle. These will of course still be reserved for you.

We offer you a couple of ways to pay to make it easy. You can pay online now at a discounted price, or later when you collect your vehicle. The choice is yours. If you choose to pay online now, you’ll pay the cost of your booking up front. Some extras can only be paid for at the counter. We’ll let you know which ones when you book – they will still be reserved for you. When you collect your vehicle, you’ll need to present the card used for your online payment, we’ll dip/swipe your card to gain authorisation but won’t take any payment until you return your vehicle. If you’d rather not pay online now, you can pay at the hire station. When you collect your vehicle, we’ll dip/swipe your card to gain authorisation for the full hire cost (including extras) but won’t take payment until you return your vehicle. Paying now will cost you less than paying later.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diners/Discover credit or charge cards. We do accept debit cards in some locations, however this varies so please be sure to check out our location specific terms and conditions. for information on the specific location you are headed to. We don't accept cards with Visa Electron, American Express Travellers Cheque cards and Pre-Paid cards – even if they carry the American Express, Visa or MasterCard logo. Germany issued Maestro cards are only accepted in Germany. Two payment cards may be required at the counter for higher-value vehicles; if you've booked online, or over the phone, this will be highlighted on your booking confirmation.

Remember, the name on the card must match the driving licence of the main driver and both your first and last name must be on your payment cards to complete the check out.

If you have prepaid for your voucher directly with us, it's not a problem. You can still collect your hire car. Just be sure to bring all of the other required identification and documentation, including the credit card used to make your booking.

If it's a voucher from a travel agent or broker, however, we need to see it before you can drive your hire car away.

Unfortunately we no longer accept cash on collection.

Remember to bring your credit card when you pick up your hire vehicle. This must be in the same name as the main driver, and the same card used to create your booking.

A fixed value voucher only covers hire fees up to a certain amount, so you’ll need to provide a payment card in the name of the driver and pay for any extra costs not covered. A full credit voucher covers the entire hire, however much it costs. You can pick up a fixed value voucher from a travel agent.


Yes. In some locations You can pay using Visa and MasterCard debit cards or Maestro cards. Please refer to our location specific terms and conditions for additional information on payment options. Remember, the name on the card must match the driving licence of the main driver. Someone else can't pay on your behalf. And don't forget to bring your payment card when you collect your rental.

We're sorry that you've had to cancel your booking with us. Please first ensure that you have read our Booking Conditions for information on cancellation fees. Once your booking is cancelled, contact us using the icons below  to request your refund. Any funds that are to be refunded can take up to 5-7 working days from the date they are processed. If there are any extraordinary circumstances that may affect the above timeframe, our customer care team will let you know. If you have cancelled your booking on the same day you created it, there is nothing to refund as the charges would not have been made until midnight. Any item listed on your statement in this case will be a pre-authorisation hold, not a debit.
